Your own cloud server: Nextcloud, ownCloud or a NAS #

Passyble talks to these through WebDAV, a standard way of storing files online. That's the name you pick in the app.

  1. On your PC: Settings → Sync → WebDAV.
  2. Enter the address of the vault file on your server, your User and an App password. For Nextcloud, create an app password under Settings → Security.
  3. Save. From then on Passyble keeps the copy on your server up to date after every change and when you unlock. Windows keeps the password safe in its own password store, not in Passyble's settings file.

Add a phone or another PC #

  • Android: choose Restore from WebDAV on the welcome screen, with the same details.
  • Another PC: on the welcome screen open More options → Restore from WebDAV, enter the Vault file URL, user and app password, then Restore vault.

A synced folder: OneDrive, Dropbox or Syncthing #

  1. When you create the vault, open More options and choose a location inside the synced folder. For an existing vault: Settings → This vault → File → Move….
  2. On the other PC: Open an existing vault file and pick the same file.
  3. On Android, use Open a vault file for a vault in a Syncthing or cloud-drive folder on the phone.

If sync pauses #

"Sync paused" next to the vault name means Passyble couldn't reach the server or folder. It keeps retrying by itself; hover over it for the reason, or click Retry. Your changes are safe on the device meanwhile.
